Product description

The netLINK PROXY integrates any PROFIBUS DP slave station into an advanced PROFINET network. The device is designed as a connector that plugs directly into the DP from the device's PROFIBUS DP interface and is connected to the PROFINET network via an RJ45 socket.

On the PROFINET side, netLINK behaves like a normal IO device. The process data of the DP slave station is mapped to the PROFINET slot/subslot addressing model according to PROFIBUS and PROFINET International (PI) guidelines.

Debugging is performed via an Ethernet port directly connected to a PC or during run time via a PROFINET switch (if installed). The netLINK proxy is configured using SYCON, an FDT/DTM based planning, configuration, and diagnosis tool. net

It takes just a few steps to get netLINK ready to run. If the GSD file from the device cannot be used directly, the scanning function allows automatic identification on the PROFIBUS. Once the slave configuration and input/output process data length are determined,

SYCON.net automatically converts parameters to standardized GSDML files. Importing this file into any PROFINET controller configuration utility and getting netLINK up and running is fairly simple.

The netLINK proxy has a 24 V power supply. During installation, the voltage can be easily tapped from the DP slave station and applied to the 2-pin COMBICON connector. The distance on PROFIBUS is shorter, so bus terminal resistors are not required.
